Diploma - details

According to the amendment to the Act Law on Higher Education (art. 167a. of the Act of 27 July 2005 (Journal of Laws of 2005, No. 164,  item 1365 as amended).), “Higher education institution is required to check written theses before their defence with the use of anti-plagiarism software which co-operate with the national database of theses”.

It means that all master and bachelor theses of our faculty students have to be checked by anti-plagiarism software since 2015.

The diploma work is to be submitted in 3 printed copies (including one archival copy printed on both sides) and at least 2 weeks before the planned term of diploma examination because it has to be checked by anti-plagiarism software.
 

1)  The archival copy must include:
 a)CD or DVD electronic version (detailed information – item 4)
 b)Conformity declaration of the paper version of the submitted diploma work with the electronic version on CD or DVD (confirmed by the author and the tutor)
 c)Declaration that the diploma work was carried out independently
d)File with the description of the diploma work is to be generated from: http://opispracy.ug.edu.pl/ (when the diploma work is written in any other language than Polish the summary field like key words, title, contents, etc. are to be written in the language in which the work is written).

 

2) Files to download:
 Title page specimen of the diploma work (accepted by Senate Education Commission of the University of Gdańsk) (title page of diploma work cannot contain UG logo)
 Binding declaration that the diploma work was carried out independently
Declaration about the conformity of the paper version of the submitted diploma work with the electronic version on CD
Declaration about sharing diploma thesis

 

3) 7 days before the final diploma examination the student is obliged to deliver to the Dean’s Office:
 a)4 photos size 4,5 x 6,5 cm
 b)Clearance slip of full-time studies
 c)Receipt of diploma fee in the amount of PLN 60 (only for payments at the UG cash desk)
d)documents confirming skills and experience gained by the student at or outside the University specified in the supplement at their request

 

4) According to the Regulation of Rector of the University of Gdańsk No 26/R/13 enclosed CD/ DVD should contain:
 a)Diploma work in source file ( e.g. MS-WORD)
 b)Diploma work in text format in Unicode standard (see the instruction) with Polish types – Attention: before saving the file please remove from the diploma work following elements: table of contents, statements, list of tables, list of figures, annexes, all tables and graphics (drawings, diagrams, photos, etc.)
 c)Diploma work in PDF format ( for instruction of installation and application of PDF Creator see:  http://www.ug.edu.pl/pl/oi/instrukcje_pdf/ ).
