"My Career" Mini Job Fair, which took place on May 14, 2024, at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk, was a unique opportunity for students of the University of Gdańsk to establish direct contact with potential employers.

The event attracted 14 renowned companies, including Accenture, Alior Bank, Arla, Deloitte, EY, JohnnyBros, LPP, LSEG, PwC, ONE (Ocean Network Express), Santander Bank Polska, Sollers Consulting, State Street, and Wipro.

The organizers of the "My Career" Mini Job Fair were the University of Gdańsk Career Office and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk.

The organizers of the mini job fair aimed to support UG students in taking their first steps in the labor market and to facilitate direct contact with companies that are potential employers.

The success in attendance proves the need to organize such meetings. The event was organized for students of the University of Gdańsk, including students from abroad, students staying under the Erasmus+, Sea-EU, and other international exchange programs. Students of the Sopot Campus of the University of Gdańsk were particularly well represented.

The organizers' goal was to provide students with convenient circumstances enabling free, informal exchange of information regarding, among others, opportunities to take up a job, internship, or apprenticeship.

Mini Job Fair "My Career" is an initiative that supports young people in building their professional careers, facilitating access to valuable information about the labor market and direct contact with future employers.

Students had the opportunity to learn about the requirements for candidates for multiple positions and the specifics of work in various industries.

Many employers offered CV consultations and advice on the recruitment process, which helped students better prepare for job applications. Students could also learn about recruitment processes in various companies, the stages of recruitment and what recruiters pay attention to, and about development paths in individual companies.

Job fairs are an essential source of information for students at every stage of their studies because they enable students to obtain information about current trends and labor market requirements, which is crucial in planning their professional careers.

Through direct conversations with employers, students can better understand what skills and competencies are most valued in the labor market, allowing them to better prepare for future challenges. Meetings with company representatives and learning about their successes and career paths can inspire and motivate students to further develop and search for their professional path.

The benefits for employers of participating in the Job Fair include meeting many potential candidates, including students and graduates with various specializations.

Meetings with candidates give employers valuable feedback about their expectations and perceptions of the company and its offer. Direct contact with candidates allows to better adapt recruitment strategies and job offers, which ultimately translates into both employers and students' benefits.

We want to thank all participants and invite you to the subsequent editions!
