We're zeroing emissions - UG knowledge transfer

As part of active and diverse activities related to the social responsibility of science and sustainable development, the project "We are zerooing emissions - knowledge transfer (from) the University of Gdańsk" will be implemented at the University of Gdańsk from the academic year 2023/2024.

 

The project was submitted by a team of employees of the Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Economics and the Center for Sustainable Development and received funding from the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Gdańsk.

 

The project selection results were announced in February and the contract for co-financing the project was signed on August 8, 2023 by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Development of the University of Gdańsk, dr hab.Sylwia Mrozowska, prof.UG and the President of PFEP, Mr. Szymon Gajda.

 

 

It is a multi-stage cycle of project educational activities, including the organization of events, conferences, workshops and competitions for students and teachers of primary and secondary schoolsin the field of sustainable development and zero emissions.


Planned initiatives include:

  • Sustainable Development Day at the University of Gdańsk (October 2023),
  • Congress of Economic and Ecological Student Associations (KEEKS) (April 2024),
  • Conference "Chemistry - business - environment" (June 2024),
  • a series of online lectures for high school students.


The activities covered by the project cover many fields of science, including exact sciences and social sciences, therefore many lecturers and representatives of scientific circles from various faculties of the University of Gdańsk will be involved in the events.
