"Developing Supply Chain in Emerging Economies – barriers and problems", który wygłosi dr Wojciech Piotrowicz z University of Oxford (Wielka Brytania)
This talk is based on chapters submitted for the book edited by Dr Piotrowicz and Dr Cuthbertson (University of Oxford). The meta-analysis of the submitted material allows identification of the common problems and barriers in supply chain development. International dimension of the work creates unique opportunity to look at current stage of the supply chain in emerging markets, common issues and solutions as well as at the regional differences. The learning could be also relevant to other emerging markets, such as Poland. Surveys and cases submitted cover countries such as Mexico, Brazil, China, Russia, Egypt, Nepal, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa and Turkey.
"Supply Chain and Intermodal Transport: The Case of Turkey as an Emerging Country", który wygłosi prof. dr D. Ali Deveci z Dokuz Eylül University (Turcja)
The presentation is based on the chapter submitted by Assoc. Prof. Dr D. Ali Deveci, Asst. Prof. Dr Gül Denktaş Şakar, Prof. Dr Okan Tuna and Recai Işıktaş for the book edited by Dr Piotrowicz and Dr Cuthbertson (University of Oxford). Turkey has become a centre of global automotive production and a centre of excellence, and the automotive industry has become the country’s leading export industry in recent years. This study attempts to study the new intermodal logistics solution of Ford Otosan in Turkey. This case study is focused on inbound logistics activities between the “Consolidation Centre” in Cologne (Germany) and Kocaeli plant (Turkey). Considering the objective of the study, outbound logistics strategies have been excluded. Findings from this case study are specific to Ford Otosan and its supply chain, nevertheless the solution could be used as example of successful design of an intermodal supply chain.
Dr Wojciech Piotrowicz uzyskał tytuł magistra na Uniwersytecie Gdańskim (Wydział Ekonomiczny, Instytut Transportu i Handlu Morskiego), stopień doktora na Brunel University w Wielkiej Brytanii oraz ukończył studia podyplomowe z zakresu nauczania na Uniwersytecie Oxfordzkim.
Dr Piotrowicz jest zatrudniony na Wydziale Zarządzania Uniwersytetu Oxfordzkiego w Saïd Business School, gdzie naucza zarządzania operacyjnego. Jego zainteresowania naukowe dotyczą następujących obszarów: technologii informatycznych, handlu detalicznego, zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw, oceny wpływu systemów informacyjnych na organizację oraz rozwoju systemów informacyjnych i IT outsourcingu na rynkach wschodzących, w tym w Polsce. Przed wyjazdem do Wielkiej Brytanii, dr Piotrowicz pracował na Uniwersytecie Gdańskim (Wydział Ekonomiczny, ITiHM) oraz w Instytucie Morskim w Gdańsku. W trakcie kariery naukowej brał udział w licznych projektach europejskich, a także współpracował z biznesem (np. Intel, BAE System). Jest autorem książek i artykułów, z których dwa otrzymały prestiżowe nagrody Emerald Literati Network Award for Excellence (w latach 2010 i 2012).
Prof. dr D. Ali Deveci uzyskał tytuł licencjata na Dokuz Eylül University (School of Maritime Business & Management, Department Maritime Business), magistra na Dokuz Eylül University (Institute of Social Sciences, Department International Business Administration) oraz stopień doktora na Istanbul University (Institute of Marine Sciences & Maritime Business, Department Maritime Business and Economics). Prof. Deveci jest kierownikiem katedry Maritime Business Administration na Wydziale Morskim Dokuz Eylül University. Jest również prodziekanem tego wydziału. Zainteresowania naukowe Profesora dotyczą następujących obszarów: ekonomiki i zarządzania transportem morskim, spedycji morskiej, transportu intermodalnego, logistyki, zarządzania łańcuchami dostaw oraz marketingu. Prof. Deveci jest autorem licznych publikacji wydanych w języku angielskim, brał udział (jako konsultant, koordynator, kierownik) w kilkunastu projektach krajowych i międzynarodowych związanych głównie z żeglugą morską, portami morskimi, transportem intermodalnym. Jest członkiem INTADER (Intermodal Transportation and Logistics Research Association of Turkey) oraz PPAD (Marketing and Marketing ResearchAssociation of Turkey).
