STUDENT PROJECTS OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS

The plans for the use and arrangement of space at the Faculty of Economics prepared as part of projects No. 3 and No. 5 - by students for students, are intended to create friendly, modern places for joint learning, integration and spending time.

The "Co-Economy" co-working zone  (nr 3) and the Eco-nomic Park (nr 5) are designed both for the Faculty of Economics students and students of other UG faculties, e.g. on their way to classes at the Foreign Language Center or meetings at WE. The new arrangement of space will enable greater integration of students, will create places for interdisciplinary meetings of interest groups, scientific circles and university organizations, where students will be able to create new ideas, develop student projects or simply relax during a break in a pleasant place and in a relaxed atmosphere.


PROJECT NO. 3. "Co-Economy" co-working zone - reconstruction of the space and creation of a friendly study and relaxation zone for students and employees - a connector between Aula A and Aula B in the building of the Faculty of Economics - 48 227,80 PLN.

PROJECT NO. 5. "Economic Park" - creation of an innovative and ecological outdoor zone, equipped with benches, chairs, work tables, pergolas, lighting and plants, conducive to silence and relaxation between classes.

The project involves development of the external area at the Faculty of Economics next to auditorium A from the side of Student Dormitory No. 7 and the Foreign Language Center - cost 23 997,60 PLN.

How to vote:

• In the electronic form at the website: https://abo.ug.edu.pl/Glosowanie.aspx after logging in to the Student Portal (students and PhD students),
• select the VOTE tab, then in the Voting Projects - Student Projects category  ® you can select a maximum of 3 projects from the list of 9 available student projects.
• Students and PhD students can vote for student projects.

Accordingly, the employees of the University of Gdansk vote in the Staff Portal and choose a staff project.

The 9 student projects include 2 projects of the Faculty of Economics:

• No. 3 "Co-Economy" co-working zone of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk
• No. 5 "Eco-nomic Park" on the Sopot Campus of the University of Gdańsk at the Faculty of Economics.

VOTING TIMELINE

•  from Monday, October 23 from 8:00 a.m. until Monday, October 30, 2023 23:59.

The voting results will be known on November 13, 2023.

Projects with the highest support, the total amount of which will be PLN 100,000. PLN in each of both categories (employee projects and student projects), will be selected for implementation and included in the university's expenditure plan for next year.


POOL OF FUNDS

A pool of funds in the amount of PLN 200,000 was allocated for the implementation of the ABO UG edition (2023); PLN 100,000 for projects submitted by students and doctoral students, and PLN 100,000. PLN for those submitted by employees.

The cost of one project cannot exceed PLN 50,000. The list of all projects that the competition committee accepted for the voting stage is available tu.

ABO UG is a cyclical competition, held annually, for submitting and selecting, by voting, ideas in the form of projects regarding the development of university infrastructure by employees, students and doctoral students of the University of Gdańsk.

It is an element of the material and financial plan of the University of Gdańsk in the field of investments and renovations.

In April 2023, the academic community had the opportunity to submit their ideas for the second edition of the initiative.

33 projects were submitted, including 22 employee projects and 11 student projects.

The competition committee ultimately qualified 27 projects for the voting stage  - 18 in the pool of employee projects and 9 student ideas.

In the first edition of the competition, nearly 5,000 people from the group of students, PhD students and employees of our university decided to vote for ABO UG projects.

Four winning student and employee projects from the first edition in 2022, initiated by the Rector, prof. Piotr Stepnowski, have already been implemented. More about the implementation of ABO in 2023 and 2022:
