The successes of our sportsmen in sailing

A student of the Faculty of Economics, Łukasz Machowski, together with a student of the Faculty of Law and Administration, Tytus Butowski, became Polish Junior Champions in the Olympic 49er class, i.e. a two-person regatta class.

The regatta was held from 16 to 19 July 2022 in Gdynia.

"It was four intense days of racing," says Łukasz Machowski. “We are glad that we were able to establish an equal fight with the best senior crews. We took 3rd place in the general classification. The winners were Dominik Buksak and Szymon Wierzbicki, the second place was taken by the team of Łukasz Przybytek with Jacek Piasecki ”.

It was the last start of our students before the most important event this year, which is the Junior World Championships. The regatta begins on August 1 in Italy at Lake Como. There will be 70 crews from around the world at the start. Łukasz and Tytus will defend their title from last year, where they became World Junior Champions in the U21 category in Gdynia.
