University Management Accounting Day with CIMA (UMAD 2019)

On 21 October 2019, at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk, an event from the University Management Accounting Day CEE (UMAD) series took place. The event took place simultaneously in all the universities of Central and Eastern Europe that cooperate with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the CIMA University Partnerships. The special guest of the event was Karen Phang, Associate Director, Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, who welcomed the universities and gave a presentation on the CIMA Professional Qualification during the online session. As part of UMAD 2019, a business game was also held, in which students interested in management accounting took part. The final point was a group photo of the winners of the CIMA Business Game.

The University of Gdańsk participated in this event for the first time, thanks to the signing of a letter of intent in May 2019 between UG and CIMA, which will result in a memorandum of understanding. The planned agreement between the University of Gdansk and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants will enable students of Economics at the Faculty of Economics to take advantage of the faster path of obtaining the globally recognised CIMA Professional Qualification.
