International Hanseatic Days

On June 13, 2024, the Faculty of Economics had the pleasure of hosting a group of Tourism Management students and professors from the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen. As part of their stay in Gdańsk, the students and professors participated in the International Hanseatic Days held in the Tri-City.

Under the guidance of Prof. Martin Holi and Prof. Sara Franzeck, a group of 15 international students from Bremen is working on a project to develop opportunities and possibilities for trips from Bremen to Gdańsk. The goal of the project is to create a template for future visits, aimed at different age groups, with a particular focus on young travelers.

During the meeting at the Faculty of Economics, which was attended by the Vice Dean for Development and Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment, Dr. Magdalena Markiewicz, Dr. Monika Grottel, MSc Przemysław Wysiński, and the representative of the Hazet Student Research Club, Wiktor Cywiński, the possibilities for cooperation and exchange of experiences were discussed.

A lively discussion concerned elements of history, economics and culture. The aspects discussed during the meeting could help students from Bremen effectively plan and implement trips to Gdańsk, while strengthening cooperation between universities and promoting Gdańsk as an attractive tourist destination.

The students from Bremen sought support in obtaining feedback on their ideas and approaches in the field of international exchange, establishing contacts that could help in the implementation of their projects, organizing meetings, and integrating with Polish students to better understand why Gdańsk is attractive to young people.

We are pleased with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, as well as to establish new contacts during the International Hanseatic Days. We believe that joint activities will contribute to a better understanding of Gdańsk and our university.
