Faculty of Economics's success in the "Visiting Professors of the University of Gdańsk" competition

We are pleased to announce that in the 4th edition of the university competition "Visiting Professors of the University of Gdańsk", two applications submitted by employees of the Faculty of Economics received funding.

The "Visiting Professors of the University of Gdańsk" program has gained significant recognition among employees of the University of Gdańsk who carry out research and/or teaching activities in cooperation with foreign researchers.

As many as 38 applications were submitted in the 4th edition of the competition. The winners of the winning applications for the foreign visiting professors program included 14 scientists from 12 countries (South Africa, Germany, Canada, Iran, the United States, Colombia, Uzbekistan, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, Rwanda and Austria).


        

Luis A. Guzman from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) was invited by dr hab. Monika Bąk, prof. UG from the Faculty of Economics. The aim of the visit is educational and scientific activities in the field of urban planning and transport.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

        

Rotem Shneor from the University of Agder (Norway), was invited by dr Joanna Adamska-Mieruszewska from the Faculty of Economics. The visit aims to carry out teaching and research activities related to crowdfunding.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The application verification committee evaluates the submitted applications in terms of the reputation of the invited scientist, the prestige of his or her home research centre, strengthening the existing international cooperation between the centres, interdisciplinarity of research topics, impact on the quality of education and measurable scientific effects of the visit.

As stated by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the University of Gdańsk, dr. hab. Anna Jurkowska-Zeidler, prof. UG: "The Visiting Professors program is a powerful element of our 'at home' internationalisation strategy." It means opening our campus to foreign guests and, above all, diversity, multiculturalism and multilingualism in our academic life. Thanks to the program, students and researchers can meet outstanding scientists worldwide.”
