Today globalization is the term most often used in the field of politics, economic, social and cultural activity. The interdependence of these fields proves that globalization becomes their resultant and leads to the integration of countries and societies. The globalization of technology, lifestyle, consumption models, culture, legal and economic regulations, perception and awareness are both the competition and the cause of globalization. Globalization also explains widely understood qualitative changes in the structure of the global economy, mainly aimed at improving effectiveness, efficiency and competitiveness, promoting innovative and entrepreneurial behaviours.

 

In the presented papers, their authors draw the main attention to the methodological dilemmas of the globalization process, and the behaviour of enterprises in the changing and difficult to predict environment. They indicate the need to improve management methods and organization of work, stress the role of the learning organization as a causative factor for development. Thereby they underline the importance of intangible and legal assets in building a modern image of business entities. In the process of globalization, the Internet plays a special role as a tool facilitating communication and obtaining information of the business activities. Papers prepared by individual authors are also important from a practical point of view. They can be successfully used by Polish enterprises in building their place and role in the structures of the global economy.
