A visit to Euroterminal Sławków

Terminal is located in the south of Poland, and precisely in the eastern part of the Śląskie Voivodeship. The hosts welcomed the guests very friendly, preparing snacks for them, showing around the whole terminal, and also talking about the scope of its activities. Euroterminal Sławków is famous primarily for having railway lines with a wide and normal track, which gives the possibility of direct transshipment of goods arriving from the eastern part of Europe, which eventually reach other parts of Poland or Western Europe. During the tour, the students had the opportunity to see one of three lifts in Poland, which is able to lift a load of 160 tons. In addition to the lift, the terminal also has a place for handling and storing containers, as well as hard coal.
A visit to Euroterminal Sławków was a very interesting event for both students of the NKL UG and teachers. Thanks to the trip, the students had the opportunity to see how work in such a place looks like and what difficulties should be faced when organizing transport from the eastern to the western part of Europe.
