The OSTC Trading Laboratory at the Faculty of Economics (room 518)

On 4th November 2014, the OSTC Trading Laboratory was launched jointly by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdansk and OSTC Poland.

The OSTC Trading Lab at the Faculty of Economics (room 518) is equipped with 20 workstations and special software that allow students to compete in an environment similar to that of professional traders in the global financial markets. The Trading Laboratory is used to teach classes for students of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Management of the University of Gdansk, including technical analysis, investment strategies and financial markets. There are also workshops conducted by OSTC managers. Furthermore, both the students and academics of the University of Gdansk may use the data available in the Laboratory to carry out research and development scientific projects.

The opening ceremony of the Laboratory was attended by representatives of the University of Gdansk: Prof. dr hab. Józef Arno Włodarski (Vice-Rector for Students), Prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Dobrowolski (Dean of the Faculty of Economics) and Prof. dr hab. Danuta Marciniak-Neider (Head of the Chair of International Financial Markets that is responsible for Trading Lab). OSTC Poland was represented by CEO Ian Firla and managers working in the OSTC offices in Warsaw and Gdansk.
