Krystyna Żołądkiewicz, Associate Professor

Krystyna Żołądkiewicz holds a doctorate in economics and a degree of habilitated doctor. She is an associated professor of economics at the University of Gdansk. She has a master’s degree in foreign trade from the University of Gdansk. She received her PhD in economics from the Faculty of International Business at Warsaw School of Economics (formerly Central School of Planning and Statistics). Professor Żołądkiewicz also completed the Executive Summer Study, the Entrepreneurship Education Colloquium on Participant-Centered Learning Program at the Harvard Business School in Boston, USA, and the University of Maastricht, Netherlands.

Professor Żołądkiewicz has 10 years of experience working in Polish diplomacy. She worked in the Commercial Counselor's Office at the Embassy of Poland in New Delhi, India and Office of Economics and Commerce in Sydney at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Australia.

 

 
    

 

She served for two terms as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics (2008-2016). Since 2008, she has been the Head of International Business (IB) studies conducted in English at the Faculty of Economics.

Her research is situated in the field of international economic relations,  with a special focus on international business, trade policy, regionalism, World Trade Organization (WTO), economies of Australia and New Zealand, SME, and international migration. She teaches at the Faculty of Economics.

As part of inter-university cooperation, she lectured, among others at Cardiff University and the University of Dundee (Great Britain), the University of Genova (Italy), the University of Zaragoza (Spain), the University of Turku (Finland), the University of Emden-Leer (Germany), Dublin University of Technology (Ireland), ESSEC Business School (France), the University of Beira Interior (Portugal), the University of Kobe (Japan), Western Sydney University (Australia) and the University of Houston-Downtown (United States). She is a member of the Academy of International Business (AIB). For her achievements, she received the medal of the National Education Commission.

 

 

    

 

Professor Żołądkiewicz regularly participates in domestic and foreign scientific conferences, conducts joint research with foreign universities. She was the coordinator of the European Union programs - TEMPUS and Erasmus KA 107 projects with Japan and Australia and is the coordinator of the Erasmus + program at the Faculty of Economics.

Professor Krystyna Żołądkiewicz authored numerous scientific publications, comments and reviews in the field of international economics and regionalism.
